Temperature and humidity sensor holder for Prusa XL
Monitoring temperature and humidity directly on a 3D printer is extremely useful, especially on large-format machines like the Prusa XL. To make this simple and clean, I designed a dedicated 3D-printed holder specifically intended to mount a compact temperature and humidity sensor on a Prusa XL.
Designed Specifically for the Prusa XL
This holder has been created to integrate neatly onto the Prusa XL, allowing you to monitor ambient conditions close to the build plate without adding clutter or modifying the machine.
It is ideal for:
- Checking ambient temperature around the print area
- Monitoring humidity near the filament and build environment
- Improving print consistency on long or demanding prints

Compatible Sensor
The holder is designed for a commonly available temperature and humidity sensor that is easy to source online:
- AliExpress: https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005010042837263.html
- Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Veanic-Electronic-Temperature-Thermometer-Hygrometer/dp/B07GNMKYCZ/
Using a widely available sensor ensures low cost, easy replacement, and long-term usability.
Optimized for 3D Printing
The design focuses on ease of printing and reliability:
- No supports required
- Optimized geometry for FDM printers
- Quick and straightforward to print
This makes it suitable even for beginners, while still offering a clean and professional result.
Recommended Materials
The part can be printed in PLA, but PETG is recommended, especially due to its position close to the Prusa XL heated build plate.
- PLA
- Easy to print
- Suitable for standard environments
- PETG (recommended)
- Better heat resistance
- More durable over time
- Safer for use near the heated bed
A Small Upgrade with Real Benefits
This sensor holder is a simple but effective upgrade for Prusa XL owners who want better control over their printing environment without complex modifications.
It’s a quick print, easy to install, and a practical addition to any Prusa XL setup.
